LIVE FREE Oklahoma’s community safety work reached a new audience in August when Executive Director Jabee Williams joined The Well Church for a service and conversation about the organization’s mission. The church’s invitation—and its willingness to invest in the work—demonstrated how faith communities can help turn shared values into local action.
Faith communities as safety partners
Churches and other faith institutions often hold deep relationships across generations. They can offer trusted gathering spaces, connect families to resources and help communities respond to grief with compassion. Those strengths make them important partners in preventing violence and supporting healing.
By making room for a conversation about LIVE FREE Oklahoma, The Well Church helped more people understand the role of community violence intervention. The approach centers credible messengers, consistent outreach and practical support for people most affected by violence.
From shared values to shared investment
Real change grows when organizations move from awareness to participation. Financial support, volunteer energy, convening power and trusted relationships can all strengthen the network working for safer Oklahoma communities.
LIVE FREE Oklahoma is grateful for partners willing to listen, learn and invest. Together, community organizations and faith leaders can build a culture where peace is supported every day.
