LIVE FREE Oklahoma teamed up with the H.O.P.E. Foundation, GNWY and Eastside Pizza House for a back-to-school giveaway designed to help Oklahoma City students and teachers begin the school year with practical support.
Practical support strengthens community
The giveaway offered free backpacks and school supplies beginning August 17 at Eastside Pizza House inside The Collective Food Hall. A limited number of supplies were also set aside for teachers, recognizing the personal resources educators often contribute to their classrooms.
No purchase was required, and items were available on a first-come, first-served basis. By placing the distribution in a familiar community location, the partners made it easier for families to access what they needed without unnecessary barriers.
Powered by partnership
Community safety includes helping young people feel prepared, supported and connected. Meeting immediate needs can reduce stress for families while showing students that their wider community is invested in their success.
This collaboration reflects LIVE FREE Oklahoma’s belief that lasting change is built together. Nonprofits, local businesses and neighborhood leaders each bring resources and relationships that become more powerful when they are shared.
